The Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering is organizing a seminar series for the 2024-2025 academic year on the topic of AI and machine learning utilization in chemistry and materials science. The seminar series, called “AI and Machine Learning in Chemical Research and Industry” is open to all participants. Aalto University students can also register for the seminar as a course (1cr). The Aalto code for this course is CHEM-E4190.
The aim of the Seminar Series is to highlight the growing role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in chemical research, with emphasis on 1) latest advances in academic research and 2) how the Finnish industry is adapting to the new data-driven paradigm for their own R&D efforts.
The seminars will start in late November 2024 and run into April 2025, with a frequency of one every three weeks, approximately. Most seminars (note exceptions below) take place on a Wednesday in the 13:00-14:00 time slot, including Q&A and followed by coffee in the lobby, at the A304 Ke2 lecture hall in the main building of the School of Chemical Engineering, Kemistintie 1, 02150 Espoo.
